Happy Chinese

New Year!

Year of the Rabbit

Dear Patients,
We are writing with some exciting transitions here at Five Seasons Healing.  Just in time for the Chinese New Year, Marie Amato is due to have her baby! We are so grateful to her for all the wonderful care she has given to all our patients and wish her a healthy birth and happy maternity leave.  Marie will be back in the office again in May.

We would like to welcome our new practitioner, Alyssa (pronounced Aleeesa) Proujansky, who will be covering for Marie while she is on maternity leave.  Alyssa has a strong clinical background in women’s health & herbal medicine and a warm and thoughtful presence.  We are thrilled to have her join our Five Seasons Healing team.

Please take a look at Alyssa’s bio below to learn more about her.  Alyssa will be seeing patients on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.   Please note that she will be in the office on Fridays instead of Thursdays each week.

We hope 2011 proves to be a year of challenge, growth, and fulfillment.  My new year’s resolution is to change my mind.  I want to replace needing & expecting with giving & accepting.  Here is an inspirational article by well-known neurologist, Oliver Sacks, on the power of our minds to change.

May you truly have a happy new year,

Sharon

Bio: Alyssa Proujansky MS, L.Ac., Dipl. C.H.Alyssa

Alyssa believes that each minuscule choice or action is part of an intricate framework stretching from the past through to the future, defining where we each stand in the present. Embracing this idea in her practice of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, Alyssa believes that no choice is too small or insignificant to inspire change.  Alyssa’s treatments focus on the ways in which our emotional lives influence our physicality, and vice-versa. Patients seeking treatment for one symptom often experience a cascade of improvement in other, seemingly-unrelated areas.

Alyssa has treated patients for a wide variety of concerns, including women’s health, internal medicine, anxiety, depression, addictions and eating disorders, allergies, chronic headaches, insomnia, chronic pain, sports injuries, and many more.  Through her extensive studies in pattern differentiation, diagnosis, acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine and nutrition, Alyssa creates individualized treatment plans addressing each person’s unique needs, providing a starting point for growth, development and change.

Alyssa is a New York State Licensed Acupuncturist and Diplomate in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, MS in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York, and member of the Acupuncture Society of New York (ASNY). She completed postgraduate training in advanced techniques in herbal medicine and women’s reproductive health, as well as training in treating addictions and emotional disorders.

I appreciate your referrals. If you have enjoyed your experience with my practice, and know of anyone who may benefit from my care, please send them my way!
